Job Description
A leading and reputed gearbox manufacturing company based in Satara MIDC urgently looking for "DESIGN ENGINEER"
Job Profile:
- Solution oriented: Studying a design sheet & thinking of possible design solutions
- Practical Approach: Researching whether the design will work and be cost-effective. Assessing the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design. Investigate and undertake analysis on how to improve existing projects, processes & components
- DesignFeasibility: Making design of products using CAD, and consult with engineering and manufacturing teammates to ensure that designs are feasible
- Testing: Developing and build designs and run tests to measure their level of function. Recording and evaluate testing data, altering designs as necessary to bring them to safety, performance and efficiency standards
- Interdepartmental Co-ordination: Consulting with production department during product manufacturing, advising them on design specifications and providing physical assistance to Assembly Department as and when required
- Market Study: Researching competitor's products and collaborate with product development team to generate ideas for making our products the best ones on the market
- Product & Process Cost Study: Calculating cost estimates for final product designs, and release reports to supervisors, incorporating costs of labor, material, delivery and overhead
- Planning & Monitoring: Attending weekly team meetings to provide progress reports, obtain updates on colleagues progress, strategize on steps for following week and acquire information about projected emerging product lines. Identifying new systems and processes to drive quality, efficiency and save costs. Planning effectively to ensure projects are delivered on time, to standard and to budget.
- Effective Communication: Communicating effectively with the clients, colleagues and vendor/supplier involved in a project to guide and identify their requirements, Writing technical reports to summaries findings. Actively participating in Lean Manufacturing activities.
Technical Skills:
- Drawing Skills: Must be able to produce a detailed drawing from discussion,rough sketch and/or partial information. Must be able to check, review and verify the detail drawings/model with respect to dimensioning, manufacturing methods, tolerances and production. Must be able to conceptualize, develop, design and create manufacturing drawings for various jigs, fixtures, gears, shafts, brackets, bearing blocks, couplings, mounting adaptors, hydraulic fittings, machine bases, and different components. Familiar with design of different types of gears and gearboxes. Select components related to mechanical fixtures, component assembly (nuts, bolts, washers, O rings, seals, etc.)
- Software Skills: Advanced level proficiency with MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of CAD (Solid Works preferred), and Tally ERP 9.0 is strongly preferred Personal strengths:
