Job Description:
Requirements for DBA role as they move to focus on cloud support:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Microsoft Azure, Azure SQL Database including installation, configuration, backups, restores, security, AD groups, managing Azure resource groups, subscriptions, storage blobs.
- Prepare, package, coordinate and implement production releases and fixes. Advise the application owner/administrator/developer, of issues and necessary remediations as appropriate
- Highly skilled with DDL/DML, Optimizing and Performance Tuning using execution plan, Profiler, and Database Tuning adviser. PowerShell skill a plus.
- Troubleshoot application database connectivity, Azure SQL issues, query performance, disaster recovery and other issues in production and development
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, deliverables and responsibilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, under close deadlines with minimal supervision and under potentially stressful situations
- Develops and utilizes best practices, checklists and defined processes
- Support during non-regular hours, nights, weekends may be required
- Agile/Kanban, HIPAA, Health Care (Medicaid) familiarity a plus
- Has a demonstrated desire and capacity to learn new technical skills
- Good verbal & written communication skills
