In this role, you will be part of the Demand Planning team and would be independently working to generate monthly and weekly forecasts starting from statistical forecast to final operations forecasts.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to understand the historical trend, events, outliers, etc., and use it to improvise forecasting technique, method, and approach for better forecast accuracy.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Trade, and finance category to estimate promotional volumes of regular items, innovations, and offerings by regional sales and distribution channels.
- Understand statistical aspects of forecasting to ensure models are updated accurately.
- Generate various reports & dashboards for key figures like Forecast (Baseline, Promotional, Unconstrained & Agreed Forecast), Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Bias (Live & Lag), Scan Sales, Free Goods & Samples, etc.
- Ensure that aggregation and disaggregation of forecast happen accurately at all levels.
- Review & Analyze key metrics periodically and work towards improving these like FAFB Loss Tree analysis for exceptional actual sales vs forecast variances.
- Support implementation of innovation plans of category, with the definition of volumes, stocks, and sales opening strategy. Work with innovation and marketing team for generating a forecast for phasing in and phasing out products.
- Conduct risk analyses (Overstocking & Out of Stocks Risks) for both regular and innovative products.
- Waste management: Control level of inventories of discontinued products and develop initial Trade plans with the category.
- Ensure well maintenance of process documentation and standard operating procedures for demand planning processes and systems by the team.
Qualifications we seek in you
Minimum qualifications
- Graduate in Operations, Supply Chain Management / Engineering / Business or related field with an understanding of applications such as SAP or other ERP/APS software experience and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite required.
- Knowledge of SAP MM module, SAP APO, Power BI, Anaplan, Kinxasis, etc. / APICS Certifications CPIM
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of demand planning processes such as baselining, best fit modelling, forecast enrichment, outlier correction, promotions, events, trends, forecast lags, forecast accuracy/Bias etc.
- Good knowledge of various statistical forecasting and inventory optimization techniques
- Functional experience in forecasting tools such as SAP APO, Demantra etc.
- Understanding of database management and any ERP architecture preferably in demand planning
- Knowledge of key inventory performance metrics: Inventory turns, service levels, safety stock, classes of inventory etc.
- Experience in managing phase in phase out products
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to interact at senior leadership levels in business.
