This includes supporting Holistic Risk Management (HRM), which requires data-driven insights to drive both regional and global program strategies and regulatory requirements.
Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style. They will possess strong intellectual curiosity, a deep understanding of PayPal s products and associated typologies, and experience with PayPal data systems. Skills in problem solving, rigorous analysis, and distilling complex and voluminous data into concise summaries will be critical. The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, abilities to manage conflicting priorities to a defined timeline, strong project management and communication skills. Demonstrated working knowledge in SQL, dashboard development, relational database fundamentals and data warehouse architecture is required
Responsibilities
- Works on projects that may be unstructured and exploratory in nature that may require a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge of multiple technologies
- Prepare, extract, report and analyze data covering a wide range of customer profile/lifecycle information from large databases (onboard, transaction/profile history, Policy/Risk/Protection interactions)
- Works independently and proficiently on multiple assignments simultaneously with speed and quality
- Partner closely with Business Program stakeholders on envisioning new reporting and defining the reporting strategy for the program whilst continually enhancing existing reports
- Providing updates to leadership, peers and other stakeholders that will simplify and clarify complex concepts and the results of analyses effectively with emphasis on the actionable outcomes and impact to business.
- Meet regularly with global teams to communicate process changes, improve standards and procedures.
- Work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
Requirements/Qualifications
- Master s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related quantitative discipline plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience in the field of data analysis or statistical analysis
- Bachelor s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Mathematics or closely related quantitative discipline plus six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of data analysis or statistical analysis.
- High proficiency in SQL & Excel. Experience with Python, R, Big Query, Hadoop
- Data visualization experience using an Enterprise Reporting tool like Tableau
- Basic understanding of predictive modeling / Data Science will be considered as a plus
- Proficient in interpreting trends and converting them into business insights
- Strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to deal with people at all levels of the organization is essential
- Willing to learn new tools and business processes
