Job Description Summary:
The Software Engineer in TestIII (SDET) keeps a keen eye on customer commitments and work collaboratively with engineering counterparts to meet customer commitments. The position must build productive working relationships and collaborate with crossfunctional teams to meet customer quality specifications. The position is responsible for the design, implementation, and documentation of code automation. Works on problem analysis and exercises judgment based on situations and data. Productive relationships with senior internal and external contacts in their own area of expertise. Leads the activities to closure independently and takes the necessary help/steps to complete.Position Reports to: Sr. Manager, Software Engineering , Power and Cloud Systems
- 6-8 years of experience working on software quality environments
- Strong understanding of Enterprise product architecture, Client-Server communication and Networking.
- Experience in web application automation using Python-Selenium programming Debugging
- Understanding of the Python programming and debugging
- Experience with test automation frameworks.
- Hands-On knowledge of AIX / Linux Operating systems.
- Experience in REST API testing.
- Experience in Regression, Functional, Usability and Performance testing.
- Skilled in analytical and system level debugging of enterprise software
- Working with test management systems, bug tracking systems like JIRA.
- Demonstrated competence in automation using scripting or other languages
- The ability to review and understand/interpret product code and logs
- Experience with the Agile development methodologies
- Ability to multitask and prioritize to meet strict deadlines, and coordinate and participate in multiple assignments
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) and Agile methodology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with IBM Power systems is a plus
- Experience using Git and Jenkins (or similar)
- Exposure to Java.
- Exposure to frameworks like NodeJS, AngularJS, Typescript, etc.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IS Engineering, or related technical discipline; advance degree preferred
