Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Product Sales Manager Merchant Acquiring role involves discharging of the following responsibilities: -

1. New Merchant Acquisition (PoS & QR) through banks sales channels, primarily Banks branches.

2. Track and achieve revenue/penetration in merchant acquisition through assigned branches in the territory as stipulated by the management.

3. Be responsible for the targets of core products

, Current accounts opened and loans disbursed) as articulated and assigned at the beginning of the year.

4. Conduct training for the branches and ensure that they are well versed with the product, sales process and product pitch.

5. Work closely with the branch staff & be the single point of contact to solve all queries & escalations of branches related to merchant activation and servicing.

6. Help in managing service relationships with clients by coordinating with back-end service teams to ensure clients concerns are addressed

7. Drive cross sell of other Banking products such as loans, insurance and investments while selling through branches

8. Be responsible for initial activation of the merchant with T+1 (T- Day of machine installation) and handover of merchant to Portfolio team @ T+30

9. Work with stakeholders across ops, finance, merchant service & product to monitor the merchant facing programs

10. To measure and be responsible for the productivity numbers of his/her hierarchy.

11. To have a clear understanding of the KYC & AML guidelines of the Bank and execute the sales process accordingly

12. Provide market/competitor intelligence and inform higher management about any gaps in IndusInd product offering compared to peers

PREFERRED Skill Set / Education / Background

  • Deep understanding of Merchant Acquiring business including new age digital POS channels
  • Experience of at 3-6 years in driving the business at branch level
  • Experience in sales domain & well versed in its principles
  • Understanding of KYC guidelines and its applicability in Merchant Acq biz
  • Proficient in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Proficient in using mobile apps.
  • Written and verbal knowledge of English and the local language in the market
  • Sound Analytical and logical reasoning capabilities.
  • Should have ideally managed a team of 5-10 people in the past.
  • Good Communication Skills
  • Interpersonal skills
