Job Description

Proven track record of resolving basic issues associated with system configuration management, resource sharing and basic networking concepts.

Train users and developers in applications and operating system fundamentals

Write basic documentation

Resolving security issues

Retention and destruction policies

Communicate in non-technical terms to non-technical people

Strategic direction of system and business operational direction

Ability to write scripts in some administrative language

Strong drive to learn

Ability to follow instructions

Strong analytical skills

Strong intellectual curiosity, motivation to advance in the profession

Clear communication skills

Ability to learn new technologies on own

Working in structured change management processes

IT security

Familiarity with open source tools, monitoring systems, tracking, resolution

Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS or 18.04 LTS

Bash shell scripting

Basic AWS skills

Understanding of DNS, Network troubleshooting & Network diagnostics

Basic Configuration/Installation of a Linux operating system

Perform installations, Linux Package Management and Patching

Supporting development teams

Monitoring systems

Virtualization and managing virtual machines

General linux system administration

High level common cli use of version control systems

Logging configuration

Web server administration & Web Server/HTTP troubleshooting

Docker administration

Routine maintenance with security updates

Software installation, and system backups - data recovery

Linux System Diagnostics

Understanding of general security requirements in Linux cloud based environments

Simple Linux networking CLI tools and usage

Advanced Jenkins usage and knowledge of plugins and build workers

GitLab administration and security, Including GitLab-CI

docker-compose and other Docker tooling

Nginx including reverse proxies and dockerized versions

Advanced AWS skills like Route53, VPC configuration

ELK Stacks and ingesting large volume data

Configuring remote decentralized Syslog systems

Understanding fine differences in networking protocols like TCP, UDP, DHCP

File System Management including LVM and NFS

Text Manipulation

DNS Servers and Domain Names

Basics of configuration management tools like Ansible

Blueprinting systems and building software on linux

File sharing

Python scripting
