SUMMARY
Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) is on a tremendous growth path. To prepare for the future growth journey we are searching a motivated colleague taking over responsibility as Infrastructure Procedure Owner driving standardization and automation in the center of a high-scale cloud environment. You will interface with a highly professional, global team of experts and architects from various teams inside ECS Delivery and the development organization. With standardization and automation, our team is enabling the ECS Delivery operational units to delight our customers and deliver reliable services!
With your solid Infrastructure and DevOps background preferably with first Pacemaker experience you will be a great addition to our team to actively drive standardization and automation projects. Further you will be part of strategic projects for introducing new technologies or tools in our environment.
THE ROLE
In your role as Infrastructure Procedure Owner with focus on Pacemaker related topics you are ensuring the definition of smooth and ideally highly automated lifecycle management activities to ensure high availability of products run within ECS this may include activities such as near zero-downtime OS patching leveraging pacemaker architecture or enablement of new multi-cloud providers or internal infrastructures for pacemaker usage. Increasing the automation of operational activities and its robustness will help operation teams reducing their manual efforts and lowering SAP s TCO while faster delivering services to our customers. Following activities will be part of your role:
Own and optimize infrastructure lifecycle management procedures based on operational feedback
Structure and coordinate the activities in the ownership of your procedure incl. requirements engineering, prioritization, and creating aligned timelines for deliverables
Being a central interface within our department for Pacemaker related topics
Drive issue resolution together with the team and utilizing the expert network
Manage relationship between different stakeholder groups inside and outside ECS Delivery
Create and align test plans, support and perform testing/validation and roll-out activities
Manage technology-related projects in complex environment
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Strong know-how in Cloud operations and infrastructure is mandatory
Profound knowledge and hands-on experience in Suses Linux OS
Ideally familiar with trending technologies and tools like Terraform or Ansible
First hands on experience with pacemaker and its related components (Cluster Resource Manager, Policy Engine, Corosync.)
First hands on in how Pacemaker and its components can be used within different SAP technologies like SAP HANA or SAP Netweaver to establish high availability scenarios incl. failovers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Quick learner, self-starter and motivated to dig into new technologies and topics
Fluent in spoken and written English
8-12 years of total experience
