Job Description
JD for Server hardware Engineer: -
Must have expert level knowledge in the following areas - Windows Server
Technologies, server hardware, Storage subsystem issues.
Good working Knowledge on RAID, Rack server and Blade Servers.
Should have excellent knowledge of SAN/NAS storage, RAID concepts and disk
management tools.
Should have excellent knowledge in firmware upgradation.
Server build knowledge (Window 2008, 2012,2016 && 2019) Backup and restore
knowledgeable.
Good knowledge of Tape library && tape drive installation and troubleshooting.
Extensive Knowledge in VMWARE VSphere 5.x && 6.x, Hyper-V.
Good hands on Experience in diagnostics && troubleshooting of server and
storage hardware.
Good understanding ofnetworking concept like TCPIP, NFS, VLAN, Router,
Switch and networking.
Should be Able to work in 24X7 environment.
Window AD, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, GPO, Support.
Must have a basic knowledge of Linux && Unix installation and troubleshooting.
Storage array firmware, FC Switch firmware/IOS and OS patching && upgrades
Host based configuration of HBA Hardware, firmware, SAN LUNs, NAS mount
points, etc.
NAS Administration (NFS && CIFS) && SAN based Replication administration.
Fabric Administration (Fiber Channel && ISCSI)
Storage and backup SME to have extensive knowledge in EMC VNX/VNXe
(SAN) ,EMC Isilon (NAS) , EMC Unity (SAN) Storage systems.
Netapp && fujitsu storage configuration knowledge.
Physical equipment install including cables, switches and arrays.
Storage/FC Infrastructure hardware repair coordination and management
scheduling
Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize
them in a customer facing environment.
Participate in technical communication within the Technical Support Engineering
team to learn about new technologies and complimentary storage applications.
Will be preferred if candidate attended HPE, IBM or DELL server or storage
training.
