Job Description Required skills:
- Asynchronous programming, experience of one of the async paradigms, e.g. spring webflux, vertx, reactor or similar, exposure to Rx or similar also would be good.
- If not that then lots of async messaging as concepts can be extended, e.g. akka or similar. But they really need to have a good understanding of async programming styles.
- Kubernetes we have a lot of kubernetes wiring now going on so exposure to
- Any cloud hosted environment, ideally actually with the environment most developers deploy on cloud Ideally AWS, High performance environments, including evidence of perf testing/resilience testing, how to optimise runtime performance, understanding of profiling tools.
- Highly automated pipeline based environments, e.g. reasonably sophisticated build chains that include beyond basic maven build execution, i.e. extending to building, artefacts, pushing these to artefact repos, deploying to different environments, running functional and non-functional tests etc.
- Containers in general, dockerised (or similar environments).
- Experience of running services in high resilient environments, good understanding of requirements around stateless and stateful services and implications when running hot/hot deploys across multiple service instances deployed across different infrastructure environments (e.g. multiple DCs potentially geographically separated by a significant enough distance).
- Cloud security fundamentals on what to look for and knowledge and implications of getting it wrong.
- Knowing how to monitor and run microservice environments.
