Position: Mechanical Engineer for Shredder Unit
Company: Steel Manufacturing Company
Location: Ethiopia, East Africa
Must have experience in Shredder Unit of a Steel Plant
Job Description:
- To take care of overall maintenance of SHREDDER unit consisting of caterpillar type chain conveyor, main shredder unit, gear boxes, vibro feeders, magnetic separators and belt conveyors etc.
- Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods.
- Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
- Diagnose breakdown problems,capable for RCA.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs.
- To ensure that all the machines are running as per Checklist defined in healthy condition.
- To analyze and ensure timely closure of all Breakdowns and take necessary actions to avoid such breakdowns in future.
- Suggest the corrective measurements or improvements, if any, to the In charge Maintenance to avoid machine failures.
- Shall be responsible for Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance.
- Shall Operate and Maintain Shredder unit.
- Shall Handle Gearboxes, Bearing blocks, oil seals etc..
- Have sound knowledge about hydraulic valves, cylinders.
- Shall maintain lubrication pumps, arrest leakages.
- Shall Maintain Safe Work Environment and train the manpower.
- Shall ensure Good House Keeping near the Equipments.
- Responsible for Gear Box, Belt Conveyor
- Strict implementation of company safety, environmental & quality practices.
- Prepare the schedule of preventive maintenance and done as per schedule.
- Minimize the maintenance breakdown during production to achieve the 100 PERCENT productivity.
- Maintain the inventory of required engineering items.
- Raise Purchase Requisition (PR) as per requirement
- Maintain proper housekeeping
- Utilizes appropriate PPE Including but not limited to safety glasses, face shields , Helmets , safety shoes and gloves.
- Lead and Guide the Team.
- To Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as confined spaces, dusty environment.
- To be capable and sound in bearing and its maintenance. .
- To be capable to handle and experienced in slag crushing .

Requirement:
- Education: BE/B.tech/Diploma in mechanical engg
- Exp: BE/B.tech/Diploma 7+ years in relevant field
- Must have experience in Shredder Unit of a Steel Plant
