Opening for the position of Design Head for a reputed Manufacturing Company on Kolkata @ Prime Online

Job Description

Strategic:
Strategizes for achievement of immediate and future goals of Material Handling unit / Equipment & Project Solutions
Resource planning and monitoring in order to meet production target as per desired quality
Carries out cost-benefit analysis for each of the steps mentioned in the plan and modifies the same accordingly, if required
Brings global perspective on Design operation; analyzes any new idea which comes up and implements them keeping in accordance with business objectives
Enforces adherence to processes and encourages the quest for continuous improvement
Operational:
Oversees the design capacity to suit marketing needs
Monitors technology transfer from external collaborators for introducing new product line
Guides for proper customization of the new product model as per local customer requirements
Supervises continuous review process for design parameters
Reviews design process for its up gradation to align with changing technology
Evaluates customer feedback reports to implement design improvements for more value addition
Monitors effective coordination with other manufacturing functions for efficient & cost effective output
Analyses new concepts of reliability engineering for design validation and defect free design production
Ensures up gradation of data bank through incorporating global developments to introduce cost effective products
Financial:
Prepares budget in line with organisation objectives keeping in mind cost rationalization; monitors it regularly for deviations
Anticipates bottlenecks and takes action in so that the cost of design (including conservation of energy power, water etc. to minimize cost of utilities) remains within the budget
Proper resource allocation in terms of manpower, raw materials, inventory planning and monitoring
Effective cost rationalization by reducing re-work and redo.
