Job Description
About Role : This position would be an excellent opportunity to join the WFEGS team in supporting a critical function within the Wells Fargo Enterprise, Mainframe Console Monitoring. Responsibilities :
Responsible for monitoring the overall Mainframe production environment, responding to alert messages and resolving routine production, application and system problems according to operating instructions or with guidance to ensure that the data center service commitments are met. Runs scripts and drafts updates to processing procedures / documentation within the data center for application processing and backup. Drafts daily operations documentation for shift transition. Documents customer inquiries, resolves routing problems or escalates as necessary to close problem records. Experience implementing/utilizing best practices for Mainframe Operations. Process Development, Quality Management Processes, Industry Knowledge.
Schedules daily team duties and activities to ensure coverage and to ensure the data center service commitments are met. Analyzes workflows and procedures, attends issue analysis meetings to resolve issues, and recommends improvements and automation. Consults with support groups on new systems. Oversees change to the production environment including reviewing in detail, identifying and working with requestor to resolve potential conflicts, and assigning tasks to implementation team. Audits and assures all processing procedures and documentation within the data center are maintained.
Essential Qualifications: Overall IT experience of 2+ years
2+ years of Mainframe Console Operations experience
Proven Experience in Monitoring subsystems (e.g. IMS, CICS, DB2) Managing (i.e. owning) the incident through service restoration Desired Qualifications : Knowledge of scripting languages, system utilities, operating systems, tape processing, scheduling packages, data transmissions, incident and change management principles
Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve routine technical problems within area of responsibility
Ability to utilize MVS and JES2 commands
Demonstrated ability in MF skills: z/OS related (JES2, VTAM etc.), CICS, IMS, DB2, HMC
Experience in handling production started tasks restarts (IMS, IDMS etc.)
Ability to perform automated startup and shutdown of the production Mainframe operating system IPL s
Must be self-motivated, able to multi task and work under pressure as a member of a high performance geographically dispersed team
