Job Description

Manager- Medical Insurance

  • In this role, you will be responsible for Medical Underwriting of individual policies for employee benefit product- short term disability and long-term disability. You will underwrite policies by determining risk as per guidelines and standard procedures. You will be encouraged to work on strict deadlines, in a fairly high pressure business environment while being a good teammate and should have led a team size of ~20 to 25 people.
Responsibilities
  • Experience in Group Disability Insurance Underwriting /Employee benefit/ Workers Compensation/ Individual disability Insurance or/and Insurance qualification/certifications will be an added advantage
  • Preferred-prior Transitions/ knowledge transfer experience/engagement to enable smooth knowledge capture/ transfer
  • Proactive communication & High analytical skills should be able to foresee issues and suggest solutions, with impactful data
  • Comprehending and responding to customer inquiries. Identify, research, and problem tackle.
  • Ensure that turnaround time and quality of the work meets Company service standards
  • Be compatible with Onshore /Offshore and customer in an encouraging and professional manner via email and on calls
  • Balance own work in process and support team efforts to ensure that individual, team goals are met.
  • Maintain key records like working files, email for reference and audit purpose
Qualification we seek in you

Minimum Qualification

  • Graduate in medical stream- BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, BPT, BDS, B Pharma, M Pharma
  • Experience in Group/ Individual Disability Insurance /Employee benefit/ Workers Compensation/ Life/ Health and/or LTC

Preferred Skill Set

  • Ensure100% adherence to SOPs/Update trackers, update dissemination, error root cause analysis, training needs identification, planning and conducting refreshers, knowledge assessments
  • Daily touch points with process trainers, SME to optimally drive knowledge management and people development practices
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills and ability to communicate verbally and through emails/Phones with businesses.
  • Insurance knowledge and ability to understand and interpret Specialty Insurance Claims terminology
  • Claims, Medical summarization, healthcare knowledge will be more preferable
  • Ability to do root-cause analysis for process gaps highlighted and to crunch data, possesses data driven & fact-based approach
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in MS office, Excel & Power
