Job Description
Wind Turbine Design Specialist
Roles and Responsibilities
- Optimize/review the design of Wind Power Plants with respect to plant load factor of the turbines, auxiliary power consumption .
- Review the balance of plant with respect to the transmission lines and the substation arrangements.
- Review reports delivered from the OEMs / internal stakeholder like Business Development and Wind Resource Analysis departments to assess the final output and the site conditions .
- Work with all internal/external stake holders to have an optimum design outlay for Wind / Solar plants.
- Submit proposals for tools/process enrichments to stay ahead in the market
- Specialist research / advice on complex technical issues.
- Plan / Process for improvements of the Wind turbines wrt power curves by doing re- engineering .
- Interface with the external R&D department; Product Managers and Load Managers
- Develop team competencies by mentoring and training of wind and site team
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/ Mechanical/Aerospace engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with background in wind industry.
- Experience on the manufacturing side with experience in handling wind generators/blade/nacelle manufacturing
- Experience supporting commercial negotiations
- Experience completing financial analysis of proposed wind power and ancillary systems
- Critical thinking mind-set
- Able to take full accountability for the technical solution
- Good communication skills and experience working with wind turbine manufacturers, consultants or developers
- This position will assist in shaping strategic direction for Wind and Site engineering.
- Position will assist in developing policies, programs, and processes for a complex and frequently changing technical environment.
- This position must remain innovative and alert to the changing elements related to this complex field.
- Good leadership skills
