Job Description
JOB REQUISITES
Role Summary
You will ensure our infrastructure and systems are configured to efficently delivery our users with functionality and features they require laising with the development and data analyst teams as required.
The role will involve using practical skills such as producing complex highlighly efficient database queries as well as some coding to debug system issues.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for monitoring servers to proactively identify potential issues before they happen
- Understand the impact of system issues using a combination of system knowledge and technical skills
- Take ownership of system issues and use technical skills to resolve. Liaise with other technical contacts as required to implement a solution
- Maintain knowledge base of system issues and the steps taken to resolve
- Contribute to software release testing by creating test plans, carrying out testing and creating associated documentation.
- Take responsibility for software installs and upgrades
Key Competencies / Skills
Mandatory skills
- Excellent problem-solving ability to diagnose system issues
- Experience of providing 2nd or 3rd line support for software systems including web and desktop
- Experience with a range of Microsoft Server technologies including Windows Server (2012 onwards), Sql Server (2012 onwards) and IIS
- Experience of creating and modifying ad hoc queries, views, functions and stored procedures
- Experience in developing with Microsoft technologies such as .Net and Asp.Net using C#
- Experience of Jira as both a user and administrator
- Experience of creating test plans and carrying out release testing
Desired Skills
- Experience of GIS Systems such as ArcGIS Server
Qualifications :Graduate
** Experience in JIRA is mandatory
