Job Description
Job Functions will include but not limited be to:
- Define and document the technical specifications on how to best develop software within our technology stack, including modifications to existing software
- Define and document technical specifications for implementing software updates including determining which classes and APIs should be used
- Define and document testing criteria and expected results for unit and integration testing as part of the technical specification that will effectively validate that the code will work as intended
- Work with the developers to review and explain details of the technical specification, as the development process begins and through completion
- Work with the Business Analysts and other business representatives, and with vendors, to understand and facilitate completion of the business requirements and functional design specification
- Analyze impact that changes will have on other components in the architecture, bank partner- specific software and third-party software
- Define the data inputs and outputs
- Document system and data flows
- Determine what tools should be used
- Identify security, privacy and regulatory requirements that should be included in code, based on the firms established policies and industry standards and best practices
- Determine how to best implement, so code can be re-used in the future
- Adapt system and software architecture practices to anticipate emerging business and technology demands
- Determine how best to deploy software once it is ready
- Identify how key features of code/system can be effectively monitored for any issues
- Design and assist with the implementation of appropriate criteria and controls for design, development, testing, change management, technology vendor management and other aspects of software development and maintenance
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience is conducting systems/application analysis
- Strong analytical and design skills
- Excellent written communications skills
- A minimum of 4 years experience developing custom software applications
- Strong C# coding skills, and strong ASP.NET experience
- Experience with Entity Framework
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server including database design/normalization
- Experience with object serialization, JSON and XML
- Advanced JavaScript experience, jQuery / AJAX
- Experience with project management and bug tracking software
- Experience with source control software including how to branch and merge
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Capability to think independently including for technical design and solutioning
- Demonstrated capability to work successfully and actively as the member of a team
- Demonstrated understanding of systems including SDLC and development standards and best practices
- Experience working in the Financial Domain is a strong plus but not mandatory
