As a category manager, your role will include but are not restricted to the following:
a) Effective communication with suppliers on potential expiry stock. Manage RTV and
liquidation support to ward off expiry issues proactively
b) Achieve maximum stock turnaround. Keep stock levels within acceptable limits in line with
category target
a) Understand margins used in the market by competition and ensure we maximise margins
without affecting topline.
b) Continuously look for opportunities and develop customer group with sustainable high
margin sales
a) Conduct post promotion review, get inputs from operators and give feedback to Category
manager
Conduct weekly price comparisons with competition on key lines
Desired Candidate Profile
Candidates who have had experience in commodity buying in the retail sector
