Job Description
Essential Job Responsibilities (Be Specific: This will be displayed for all internal/external postings)JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
An energetic person who is capable of working as part of team & perform validation of New product development and/or sustaining programs. Deliver the product with quality. Develop test cases around the requirements & improve test efficiency by automation
QA Engineer supporting the continued design, development, and quality delivery of firmware & software applications for the HVACR domain products at Carrier Corporation
Basic knowledge on HVAC. Basic knowledge on Hardware Simulation
Create manual test cases/automation test scripts, Document and Execute the test cases that conform to the technical and functional specifications for Firmware and Software applications
Document and present test results as per the QA policies and procedures
Good understanding of SDLC, defect life cycle
Experience in understanding requirements traceability matrix & and also validate system interface at consumer level
Experience in automation testing and hands-on in utilizing appropriate automation frame work
Experience in testing different communication protocols such as, RS232, RS485, TCP/IP, BACnet, Modbus etc.
Good Working knowledge tools like Azure/HPQC/IBM/PVCS/SVN
Good experiences in Performing Regression Testing to verify and uncover new errors in legacy code after changes have been made
Contributes ideas on product and process improvements. Participates in design review sessions
Adhere to the Automation Framework for HVACR domain products and enhancements
EDUCATION PREFERRED:
BE/ME or B.Tech./M.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Minimum 2 years software development experience required as below:
Essential Competencies:
oExperience in Embedded Software Quality Assurance.
oExperience in testing different communication protocols such as, RS232, RS485, TCP/IP, BACnet, Modbus etc.
oUnderstanding of functional and non-functional requirements.
oExperience utilizing Agile Software Process Techniques
oRelentless root cause/troubleshooting experience.
Desirable Competencies:
oExperience in embedded software quality assurance for HVACR control applications from concept through to production.
oWorking knowledge on Tools like: Azure, IBM, SVN, DNG, RTC, RQM or HPQC
oKnowledge of Hardware related testing
oKnowledge of end to end Test Management process
OTHER COMPETENCIES:
Candidate must conduct business in an ethical manner, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with little supervision. Know how/where to get answers and overcomes obstacles. Highly driven, strong communicator who is able to understand customer requirements and project goals, and is able to balance multiple priorities. Work in a team environment when required and produce results in a timely manner. Possess a positive attitude, show enthusiasm, take pride in the work, be results driven, keen to learn, creative and efficient.
