Responsible for evaluating compounds in animal models that include but are not restricted to oncology
Development of innovative in vivo disease models
Design and implementation of in vivo rodent pharmacokinetic studies
Supervision and training of scientists
Vivarium management including creation and implementation of SOPs and interaction with regulatory bodies
Participates in the selection, contracting, and day-to-day management of external suppliers involved in the analysis of desired compounds.
Participates in cross-functional compound development efforts as applicable
High quality scientific reading/writing
Participates as appropriate in the human resources activities of the department (staffing, training, performance management, and employee development).
Excellent Oral and Written communication skills.
Qualifications/Requirements/Skills:
M.V.Sc. and/or Ph.D. in Pharmacology or allied discipline, with 1-3 years of hands-on experience.
Experience in management of scientific personnel
Demonstrated record of managing an animal facility
Ability to work independently and flexibly and to adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
