Job Description
Operational Risk Senior Associate (ORSA) is an individual contributor role responsible for providing support to enterprise-wide oversight and governance of complex business group or manages integrated enterprise wide operational risk program(s) / initiative(s). ORSA is responsible for governance, oversight, and credibly challenging operational risk exposures and risk management practices through monitoring, analyzing and developing standards for remediating risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities:- Provides operational risk expertise and consulting to complex business units/enterprise functions for initiatives with high risk.
- Identifies and assesses operational risk issues, assigning risk ratings consistent with established policy standards.
- Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls.
- Review and challenge of front line risk acceptances and new business initiatives
- Analyzes business and/or systems changes to determine impact.
- Provides consulting to business on corrective action plans and effectively managing change.
- Reports findings and develops business cases to influence senior management on the need for controls to mitigate risk.
- Manages production of operational risk performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies.
- Identifies training opportunities. Designs or coordinates development of training and delivers or coordinates delivery of training.
- Support routine engagement requirements for/with the Control Executive teams, Function Heads and Independent Risk leaders to promote a strong operational risk culture
- Oversee and challenge the front line across all operational risk routines including plan, identify and assess, control and mitigate, test and validate, monitor and report
- Identify and escalate to senior leadership conflicts with risk management results and expected business outcomes
