Job Description

Job Summary

We re seeking a Manager Data Scientist to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be engaging with clients to understand their business context and lead a team of data scientists and engineers to embed AI and machine learning into the business decision processes.

This position gives the opportunity for hands-on contribution being a technical SME, customer engagement, and technical team management.

This role is ideal for you if you are passionate to work on complex unstructured business problems that can be solved using data science and machine learning, we would like to talk to you.

Experience: 7 - 10 years

Responsibilities:

You'll work closely with product teams and mentor them on best practices for modern ML, and keep the wider team informed on the state-of-the-art. In addition, you will be in a strategic position to influence future roadmaps for recommender system products.

Identify potential opportunities in applying Data Mining methods techniques to solve existing business problems

Design, develop and deliver AI/machine learning enabled solutions for our industry specific data analytics platform

Participating in the areas of architecture, design, implementation, and testing

Demonstrating thought leadership and subject matter expertise in all relevant topics by coming up with papers, publications and Patents

Coach, mentor, and conduct training programs for the team

Applying advanced statistical and predictive modelling techniques to build, maintain, and improve on multiple real-time decision systems

Ideal Candidate should have:

Masters or Ph.D. in computer science, machine learning, information retrieval, recommendation systems, natural language processing, statistics, math, engineering from a reputed institution

7+ Years of relevant work experience including 3+ years in leadership with track record of hiring and developing data science professionals

Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong urge to learn, iterate and innovate

Experience with agile/scrum methodologies and its benefits of keeping scientists on track and iteratively delivering results.

Experience with big data: extraction, processing, filtering, and presenting large data quantities (100K to Millions of rows) via AWS technologies, SQL, and data pipelines

Experience with several ML techniques and frameworks, e.g. Natural Language Processing, Recommender Systems, sampling, linear regression, decision trees, SVMs, deep neural networks, etc.

Familiarity with one or more Deep learning software frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch. Gensim

Strong fundamentals of data structures and commonly used algorithms, understanding of correctness and runtime analysis, familiarity with space-time-accuracy tradeoffs;

Knowledge in Text Mining, Semantic Web, elastic search, Amazon cloud, would be an added advantage
