Job Description

Chief Brand Officer

Support exponential organisational growth and brand building through the below areas:

Brand Fundamentals

  • Drive development of the Brand Identity, Brand Book, define Brand Positioning, Brand Differentiation and the overall Brand Strategy.
  • Brand Framework and Road map Development of the overall brand framework and annual roadmap for key areas of brand, product and retail with a focus on building a sustained brand.
  • Brand Communication Lead the development of all areas of brand communication advertising, social media, digital and PR.
  • Retail / POS Identity Development Develop the design framework/ templates for the brand presence at offline retail brand boutiques, shop in shop, airports, events, etc boutique design, counter design, merchandising materials, beauty advisors uniform, etc in line with the brand image.
  • Key Assets / Master Brand Library / Brand Playbook Creation and Development of a digital library with master brand creatives, product materials and other tools for enabling synchronised adaptation and implementation at various points of brand interface and communication regionally, nationally and internationally.

Product Led -

  • Product Marketing - Concept development for new product launches. Unique concept positioning for each product line. Annual calendar with campaigns for creating awareness, usage and engagement.
  • Product Education - Development of product specific information materials for product education and brand appreciation which can be integrated in all communication areas.
  • Product Development & Innovation Work closely with the CEO and R&D labs on the Product Portfolio development and innovation keeping in mind the market need gaps, areas of leverage and new areas of opportunity.
  • Pricing Work closely with the CEO and CFO on the pricing keeping in mind the product and competitive positioning and profitability targets.
  • Packaging Design Development of the template for packaging design for various SKU across channels retail, hotels, airline kits, travel packs, gift packs, samples, etc.

Other Marketing Areas -

  • Creativity and Revenue Growth supported by Data led Insights - Gather insights from the desired data framework (from retail, CRM, social listening, etc) periodically to guide/ validate/ refine the product portfolio, brand communication, retail presence and packaging.
  • Marketing Budget and Marketing Operations Optimal allocation of the budget along with tracking and impact analysis.
  • Marketing Innovations Explore use of technology across sales and communication channels to enhance customer experience and build brand loyalty and engagement through experiential marketing programs.
  • Training Materials for Sales Staff at offline retail presence.

Brand Initiatives for building Brand Equity and Sustainability

  • Explore areas and solutions for creating and building sustainable Brand Equity e.g. environment led/ cause related initiatives related to sourcing and packaging, recycling, reuse, health related, etc.

Collaboration with Leadership Teams -

  • Contribute to the development of the organisational culture which imbibes the brand spirit, organisational values with a growth mindset and cultivate an environment where talent thrives.
  • Establish Annual Planning cycles and Ideation programs in close collaboration with cross functional leaders (e.g. Business Development, Supply Chain, Retail Operations and HR) to develop / check and adjust the brand road map.

Brand support and guidance for International expansion

  • Ensure synchronisation in the brand image and identity across the globe in brand communication as well as in Retail.
  • Guide the local Marketing team on brand fundamentals.
  • Enable smooth access and adoption of brand creatives, product materials, etc. from the Master Brand Library for local adaptation.
  • Support the local teams in formulating country level marketing strategies (specific for each market) for brand launch and annual plans for brand building along with the annual product and marketing calendar.
  • Support the country teams in optimal allocation and execution of the annual marketing budget.
  • Explore country specific product lines to capture opportunities.
  • Gather consumer insights and intelligence across markets for leveraging country specific product, marketing and channel distribution opportunities.
  • Explore initiatives country wise for building sustainable Brand Equity with key initiatives.
