Job Description
A private family in Patiala, is looking for a full time live in registered nurse. The lady suffers from chronic liver disease with cirrhosis and advanced type 2 diabetes. Her age is currently 62 and likes to be active. She is very weak, and the family wants a full-time carer for her, who has excellent medical knowledge too. The nurse should be willing to go out of her way to serve the patient and try her best to ensure that she is not exerting herself.
Roles and Responsibilities
Duties:
- Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as accompanying and helping the lady with her daily tasks around the house like helping the lady organize her clothes in the cupboards, help the lady if needed with rearranging the kitchen etc.
- taking care of nutritional needs as instructed by doctor, daily needs and even all categories of personal care as and when needed.
- Medication reminders and should be able to put a drip or carry out general nursing diagnostics and procedures and monitor and assist the lady and her family in case of an emergency.
- Keeping a log of all medication & meals
- Liaising with family members and often the rest of the medical team as required.
Anything required by the patient at home that is in the capacity of the nurse to deliver- e.g. massage (neck, foot, hands) garden walks etc
