Job Description
Staff nurses manage the care and recovery of patients who are ill or injured, and are often the first people patients and visitors encounter in hospitals or other medical facilities. These nurses record patients' vital signs, assess their medical conditions and report their findings to doctors.
Staff Nurse Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations
- Plan and implement patient care plans
- Coordinate employee schedules, ensuring adequate coverage
- Enforce all workplace policies and procedures
- Collaborate with patient care team to yield positive patient outcomes
- Advocate for optimal patient experience and outcomes
- Make recommendations for professional development based on performance reviews
- Ensure compliance with prescribed standards of practice
- Maintain general awareness of patient health statuses
- Direct patient and staff inquiries appropriately
- Assess and plan courses for patient care
- Assign all beds during shift
- Liaise between your unit and other units
- Approve lab orders
Provide nursing care to patients of different ages according to hospital policies.
Stay abreast with latest developments in nursing field.
Attend educational seminars and workshops for professional development.
Provide guidance to other Nurses when required.
Ensure to deliver quality, timely and continuous care to patients.
Interact with patients, understand their needs and develop patient care plan.
Make updates to patient care plan according to their changing needs.
Complete patient documentations and address patient queries and concerns promptly.
Educate patients and their families about the treatment procedures.
Interact with patients pleasantly and positively and ensure patient satisfaction.
Maintain patient information secure and confidential.
Provide treatments to patients as per Physicians orders.
Monitor patient progress and update to Physician on regular basis.
Operate medical instruments and equipment effectively to ensure patient safety.
