About the Role
- You will be working as part of the Enterprise Application Engineering team to Package various applications to meet enterprise standards.
- You will interact closely with Product Owners and users for building the packages.
Responsibilities
- Create application package in MSI for Windows (Desktops).
- Participates in overall systems testing. Leads the migration of applications to production.
- Develops new documentation, participates in the development of department technical procedures and designs user guides.
- Using our Enterprise Application Engineering (EAE) packaging standards, integrate and develop packages for various in-house developed and shrink-wrapped applications for the Wells Fargo Desktop Connection managed LAN environment.
- Engage internal customer to obtain packaging requirements and create technical documents with solutions to meet requirements and scale to large environment.
- Ensure prerequisites or dependencies as well as packaging standards are accounted for in the solution delivered.
- Engage Application Owner/Developer/Vendor to assist with technical configuration when necessary.
- Sound knowledge on Windows Installer MSI packaging using Admin Studio/Install shield.
- Strong knowledge in Scripting (PowerShell, VB script and Wise Script).
- Good knowledge of Operating systems - Windows7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10.
- Strong troubleshooting, testing and analytical skills to resolve complex issues.
- Troubleshooting using various tools like Picture Taker, Install rite, FileMon/RegMon.
- Basic knowledge on SCCM application deployment/testing.
- Handle multiple requests to ensure all packages are delivered within SLA meet the business emergencies.
- Perform internal testing/quality assurance to ensure package complies with standards.
- Coordinate testing and User Acceptance Signoff with application owner when necessary.
- Remediate issues discovered during testing or deployment.
- Hands on experience about critical unattended installation and uninstallations for Core applications (IBM, HP, SAP, Visual Studio, Oracle etc)
- Good communication skills team player, ability to co-ordinate well within local/global teams within same function as well as cross functional teams.
- Strict processes and standard adherence.
- 4 years degree.
- Experience of more than 9 years in packaging applications. Strong scripting knowledge in PowerShell, WI script and VBScript.
- Hands-on on tools like Install Shield Admin Studio, WI script, Beyond Compare
- Knowledge in Windows, application wrapping and scripting.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Advanced experience with application packaging and integration toolsets. Strong understanding of automation concepts and how they are effectively applied to large environments, including the ability to implement, manage, and track changes across large populations. T
- Thorough technical knowledge of Microsoft feature set and security model. Awareness or familiarity w/ SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) in order to QA distribution success. Strong query skills using SQL predominantly.
