Dear Candidates,
Urgent opening in Qatar Shutdown Project post for "Area Coordinator"
The salary range is QR 6,500 QR 9,000 / per month.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Area Coordinator
1. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Ensure good supervision of the work and personnel for assigned areas and/or activities
2. JOB OBJECTIVES
2.1 Organize and assign work to trade foreman/charge hands or new.
2.2 Plan and report requirements for manpower, materials and equipment.
2.3 Coordinate works with other supervisors, contracts and subcontractors on a daily basis to minimize work interferences.
2.4 Instruct personnel in good housekeeping and safety practices.
2.5 Maintain work rules and work force discipline.
2.6 Monitor and control progress of construction work within the schedule for the assigned area.
2.7 Maintain a properly detailed and accurate diary of the construction work accomplished.
2.8 Organize and direct the work force to accomplish construction in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
2.9 Observe the subcontractors operations and record daily accomplishments, problems, and manpower and equipment usage. Take remedial action on shortcomings in co-ordination with the responsible Manager.
2.10 Measure performance and certify progress payment reports.
2.11 Inspect materials and equipment as installed for compliance with contract plans and specifications.
2.12 Ensure acceptable S/E ratio is maintained.
2.13 Ensure installation is of a standard so as to avoid Quality and Safety violations.
2.14 Discuss and assess problems encountered by the staff on site. Assess need for additional and input of labor, supervision and equipment during the course of construction.
2.15 Ensure that methods of work are up to date, efficient and in accordance with company and client safety policies and Health and Safety requirements.
2.16 Ensure construction / installation keeps to budget / plan.
2.17 Investigate and account for any deviations from budget Man-hours.
2.18 Ensure exporting and control procedures are operated correctly on all site under your control.
2.19 Establish and maintain good relationships with clients.
2.20 Set an example of loyalty, enthusiasm and hard work in the performance of all duties.
2.21 Ensure that work practices and installation meet required quality standards.
2.22 Ensure that you understand the extent of the subcontractors work and be fully conversation same.
2.23 Familiarize yourself with the programme, planned hours, ratios material as per B.O.M. and ensure that these parameters are met.
2.24 Short term programme are to be made in relation to overall programme and highlight access, hold-ups.
2.25 Ensure that transport, tools, plant and equipment are maintained in proper working order and not abused.
2.26 Ensure that the project is carried out to the highest standard of work, to the clients satisfaction and clients regulations.
2.27 Ensure that no work outside the scope of our contract is carried out without prior written approval from the client. Ensure that all day works are signed on a daily basis.
2.28 Ensure that tools/plants/equipment/transport is charged on day works where applicable.
2.29 Monitor SNC-Lavalin staff on site with regard to overall personnel development. Record development and report on a regular basis. Ensure that the Foreman are fully conversant with the programme and rations and that they operate within the parameters.
2.30 Ensure that major delays are highlighted during the course of the project.
2.31 Ensure that the companys interests are looked after at all times.
2.32 Any other adhoc duties as assigned from time to time.
2.33 Ensure that all relevant SNC-Lavalin Policies and Procedures are adhered to at all times.

4. HSE AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain standards of safety and comply with Companys Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. Take reasonable care of ones own health and safety and that of others in the workplace. Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirements.
First line inspection to be done by Supervisor before equipment is handed over to the Client.
5. EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
5.1 Diploma / With a Recognized Technical Qualification from the country of origin.
5.2 5 Years Experience from trades
5.3 Man management skills
5.4 Negotiating skills
5.5 Decision Making Skills
