Job Description
Join a pioneer in Mobile Ticketing Technologies! Bytemark is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a fast growing team at our Bangalore location!
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining production systems. These duties include release management, automation, system maintenance, and must have experience in the configuration and use of source code management systems and code build systems. Selected candidate will also serve as a technical lead on strategic, infrastructure related projects to provide insight and direction. Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, are key attributes.
In this role, you'll work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems. Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations. And troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, test and production environments.
Job Requirements:
- Writing scripts to automate the provisioning and maintenance of systems in a distributed, cloud infrastructure
- Work in an agile development environment, collaborating with Application Development and Architecture teams
- Take an active role in developing the long-range technical infrastructure and architecture plans.
- Experiment with new technologies to optimize the reliability and performance of our infrastructure automation
- Design and implement proactive monitoring to ensure health, performance, reliability, and security of our production and non-production cloud infrastructure
- Plan automated backups and disaster recovery/failover configurations
- Work with other development team to profile and optimize reference architectures
- Produce high quality systems documents
- Manage the relationship with our infrastructure provider. Create and manage service tickets for sysops tasks
- Be on-call during production release, maintenance & system upgrades
- Maintain security policies to pass annual PCI DSS level 1 compliance audit
Preferred Skills:
- Undergraduate degree in the field of computer science or equivalent
- Experience in deploying and maintaining cloud based systems, (experience with AWS is required)
- Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
- Experience in cloud automation using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef (We use Ansible)
- Demonstrated experience with Java application deployment
- Experience with CI tool: Jenkins, Bamboo, Hudson or CruiseControl
- Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
- Experience with scripting languages (Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby etc.)
- Experience with AWS RDS such as MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL
- Strong grasp of container technology specifically Docker container orchestration with tools such as ECS
- Solid understanding of Microservices and APIs
- Expert in high availability applications including redundancy, fail over, scalability, monitoring and performance
- Systems administration including custom distributions, user and account management, patching and scripting
- Excellent customer service skills, including verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills
This is Full Time Permanent role "NOT CONTRACT."
