Development Manager - Vlocity
Job Summary
The role of Development Manager (DM) is a dynamic and multi-faceted role, requiring strong leadership, mentorship, multitasking and technical capabilities with a solid ability to define approach and prioritize responsibilities across a team of developers and quality analysts to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget across multiple agile program lifecycles. A DM is the point of contact for the Company India team (Developers, Quality Analysts, Technical Leads) and multiple respective onshore project managers. A DM has expert-level knowledge of Salesforce and the related ecosystem of complimentary applications and technologies.
Responsibilities and Duties
Delivery Management (70% of the time)
Manage a delivery team to ensure timely and accurate customer deliveries.
Oversee daily activities of the delivery team and provide direction and guidance as needed.
Analyze and troubleshoot delivery issues in a timely fashion.
Be the thought leader and add niche dimensions to the solutions in terms of usability, scalability, quality, and maintainability.
Provide pre-sales and/or sales support for Salesforce - Vlocity Engagements
Establishing and ensuring apt DevOps processes
Setting the right expectations with all the respective stakeholders
Proactive and diligent communication in all appropriate channels
Establish necessary reporting mechanisms providing insights on throughput
Ensure all best practices including frameworks, tools, etc., are followed
Help evaluate the use of asset & components from design/code library
Help create a list of potential assets that can be contributed to the design/code library
Develop in Apex, Lightning, Visualforce, React and other technologies to build customized solutions
Use knowledge of Vlocity OmniScript, Vlocity Data Raptors, Vlocity cards, Vlocity integration procedures, etc
Set best practices including integration and application development, deployment, testing (unit and systems), and iterative refinement
Perform and plan code reviews with developers on a consistent cadence
Manage user stories for developers: prioritizing stories within a sprint and serving as an escalation point for the developers on all technical questions or issues
Manage deployments and version control
Assist the Technical Architect in aspects of solution design
Resource Management (30% of the time)
Define project allocations (mix of TL, Devs)
Ramp up allocated resources with the necessary knowledge, skills, and expectations for smooth kickoff
Monitor weekly assignments, schedules, and timecards. Ensure utilization targets of all resources in your team are met.
Manage back-ups or alternative resources - on-demand basis, during PTOs or during unexpected events
Ensure optimal utilization of resources
Design and drive programs to target optimum billability for reaching SL100 milestone
Required Skills and Qualifications
Salesforce.com certification (Administrator, Sales Cloud or Service Cloud)
Vlocity Platform Developer certification; working experience with Vlocity OmniScript, Vlocity Data Raptors, Vlocity cards, Vlocity integration procedures, etc.
Strong customer-facing skills, proven ability to communicate and build relationships with business and technical audiences, great teamwork and collaboration skills
Knowledge of health, insurance and key business processes (calculation rules, quoting, claims, etc.)
Understand key concepts of user-centered design and design thinking
Technically supporting developers with their tasks
Required - Minimum Bachelor's Degree or any other equivalent Degree in Computers
Required Experience
Work Experience with Salesforce integrations
Minimum 14+ years of Overall work experience
Minimum 8-9 years implementing Salesforce Integration & Lightning development projects
Minimum 3+ years Vlocity project experience around Health, Insurance Industries
Nice to Have - CPQ Knowledge.
