Job Description

1.Carries out the assigned cabling tasks including laying, testing, fault-location and maintenance activities promptly, systematically, efficiently and according to the prescribed procedures and standards.
2.Lays the indoor Fiber & UTP cables as instructed and carries out cable-jointing tasks in respect of UTP/Optic Fiber cables.
3.Supports as required the related civil works, duct blockage clearance and other preparatory/incidental activities associated with cable laying/repair. Assists in dewatering of manholes and junction boxes if required.
4.Attends to the IFP/FTU/ODF termination jobs in accordance with the prescribed standards.
5.Assists in the preparation and installation of Fiber Node & Splitters.
6.Assists in conducting the prescribed OTDR tests as well as power meter tests for acceptance of Fiber Link.
7.Interfaces with the other Engineering sections in the Unit as required on the cable jobs related to development and maintenance of Fiber Network.
8.Demonstrates keenness to upgrade the skills and knowledge relating to new technologies, systems and developments in the functional area of specialization.
9.Undertakes full responsibility of all equipment in his area.
10.Demonstrates high level of proficiency in the splicing techniques in respect of all types of cables. (Cable Jointer/Splicer)
11. Carry out complex cabling jobs in the assigned functionality. ( Cable Jointer/Splicer)
12.Performs any other related duties as required.
13.Quality control.
14.Technical assistance to Site Engineer.
15.Ensure all instrument to be used are calibrated.
16.Reporting on any deviation regarding HSE to site Engineer.
17.Follow the IMS documentation.
18.Ensuring compliance to HSE requirements.
19.Responsible for conducting tool box talks.
