Job Description
* Understanding of the importance of the purchasing function and the primary and secondary members of purchasing team.* Must have extensive knowledge of general principles for purchasing all goods and material used in the production of product intended for human consumption.
* Familiar with the purchasing control points, and the role of internal customers in purchasing.
Knowledgeable of the steps in the purchasing process, the skills, knowledge, and behavior required in purchasing personnel.
* Able to understand purchase specifications and the purchase order system, pricing and cost controls, and the ordering process.
* Manages/fosters buyer-distributor relationships.
* Ability to prepare and understand the audit trail and procedures necessary for effective inventory controls.
Knowledge of distribution systems through which various food processing products are purchased and purchase specifications for various food processing products.
*Bachelors Degree preferred.
* 3-5 years of Purchasing experience within an edible product processing environment strongly preferred.
* 3-5 years of Management experience within a Purchasing unit preferred.
* 3-5 years of Purchasing experience within an edible product processing environment strongly preferred.
* 3-5 years of Management experience within a Purchasing unit preferred.
