SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Asst. Manager - Warehouse is responsible to manage the safe handling, storage, receiving, packing and shipments of finished goods, raw materials, packing materials, consumables and engineering materials in timely manner with compliance to statutory regulations and to renew all relevant licenses.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Establish strategic plan and direction for the distribution function at the plant
- Manage and oversee all shipping activities with emphasis on timeliness, accuracy and safety.
- Comply with all trucking regulations and ship materials in a timely manner consistent with good practices.
- Maintain accurate stock locations and modify as required in both additions and reductions of SKUs. This includes cycle counting and implementing improvement plans when required. Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy and monitor efficiency making necessary changes to work methods when indicated to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Compliance to cGMP for warehousing
- Compliance to storage of compatible and non-compatible materials in warehousing
- Compliance to regulatory and statutory requirements
- Compliance to budgetary allotments
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ON-GOING FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that direct reports are receiving the training and development needed for next position.
- Actively establish, promote and monitor safe work, environmental and housekeeping procedures for all warehouse personnel.
- Responsible to manage the warehouse and perform their defined tasks in order to comply with and maintain the sites ISO 9000 certification and all regulatory requirements and is expected to shut down the operation and notify management if questions regarding compliance or other issues requiring additional attention arise.
- Maintain minimum inventory at warehouse as specified
- To keep track on the renewal of all the licenses
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
B.Sc. Chemistry, with a Diploma in Materials Management or similar qualifications
Experience:
06- 10 years of warehousing experience, preferably in the manufacture of chemicals (preferably solvents) and API under cGMP, including 3-5 years of management/supervisory experience.
Experienced on SAP operations - MM module, JD Edward preferable
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Be able to manage effectively and have a track record of success in this area.
Exposure to use of standards needed
Skills/Competencies:
Good working knowledge of warehousing and distribution operations.
Knowledgeable in DOT regulations and have some exposure to traffic.
Analytical ability as well as ability to develop monitoring systems and procedures needed.
Financial and budgetary management
Conversant to MSDS usage
Experience working with customer service in order fulfillment
