Software Product ManagerReports to: TBD
Overview:
The Software Product Manager is responsible for the complete cycle of a product line. The incumbent will work closely with various teams to make business decisions and create product strategies that ensure the organizations long term sustainability. The candidate would also develop long term plans for the success of the product line. Responsibilities:
Managing the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
Lead and build software development team
Prepare, maintain, and define product enhancements for short and long term releases
Analyzing partner relationships for the product
Define feature roadmap for products based on business requirements
Propose an overall product budget to ensure success
Work with management and other contributors to evaluate and prioritize requirements and develop strategy
Create feature descriptions to provide guidance to Business Analysts and contribute and approve the product-related business requirements documents
Responsible for product launch and release plans
Coordinates internal product launches working with Support, Development and Training teams
Develop and when necessary deliver concise and meaningful presentations for internal audiences
Consult with teams to ensure appropriate service levels for the product line
Create and maintain documentation for products and services
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience combined with some postsecondary education
Product Management certification would be an asset
Project Management certification would be an asset
5+ years of experience in Software Product Management
Strong experience with Windows, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
Strong knowledge of SDLC
Demonstrated success defining, launching, and maintaining excellent products
Knowledgeable on use of computer technology
Familiarity of web development platforms, databases and infrastructure
ERP development experience preferred
