Job Description
Background
The ML Platform team is part of the wider Cloud Engineering capability within the Technology COO Function and work closely with numerous data science and data platform teams across the organisation.
The team runs the Learning Fabric platform that underpins the data science activity in terms of infrastructure, tools and data.
The engineer will contribute to the ongoing evolution and support of the platform as well as acting in a consultancy role to related projects. The engineer will be expected to design and implement solutions that meet and/or develop reusable patterns that support M&Gs architecture and governance principals.
The engineer will be expected to keep up to date with technical developments relevant to the platform and suggest the adoption of new technologies if appropriate.Roles and Responsibilities
You will have
- A minimum of 2 years hands on experience with Azure.
- Proven experience of Azure Solution Architecture, with specific focus on data science and data engineering patterns.
- Experience in securing Azure PaaS/IaaS resources
- Azure Administration (AZ-103), Security (AZ-500), DevOps (AZ-400), Solution Architecture (AZ-300/301) certifications are highly desirable.
- Experience of Azure DevOps (VSTS) all solutions are deployed via CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
- Define, design, and build Azure cloud solutions required by the ML Teams customers utilising standard methodologies and building re-usable components etc.
- Support the operational elements of the platform.
- Support customer teams use of Azure Databricks.
- Identify opportunities to automate / improve existing solutions.
- Ensure solutions meet the appropriate data security/privacy and proactively engage with customers to ensure data security is inbuilt with their activities
- Conduct prototyping and evaluation studies for new workloads.
- Undertake technical discussions and workshops with technology partners and internal resources.
- Automating, monitoring, and alerting on all aspects of a cloud solutions design.
- Leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code techniques for automated delivery.
- Define and contribute to the teams documentation relating to the platform, products and solutions.
