Job Description
The person is responsible for undertaking Automation and Manual test activities across various phases of testing.
Good understanding of banking Domain with mainframe capabilities.
To own technical excellence aspects of design, development and customisation for the Test Automation framework to suite the needs of various platforms in portfolio.
Act as guardian for the technical assets and ensure technical roadmap is supported through the right design decisions in the portfolio.
The role must oversee and account for developer deliverables to meet acceptance criterion of business requirements written as per Agile BDD (Behaviour Driven Development) framework
Is capable of effective stakeholder management, supporting business for making informed decisions based on test results, possess good analytical skills.
Create Test ware - estimates, scenarios, cases, data for both automated and manual tests covering functional and non-functional scenarios. Execute Test and collate evidence. Defect reporting and tracking. Create and execute plan to increase the level of automated tests available.

What will you be doing
Ability to develop test strategies, test plans and Co-ordination with Business teams for UAT and Live Proving phases
Develop Strategy / approach based on the business requirements
Actively engage in providing solutions (Technical/Functional) to the Automation resources and functional teams.
Take steps to ensure that all automation development is done in line with Quality first approach by engaging in reviews
Act as a SME and provide troubleshooting support for application issues faced as and when required across test development in various projects.
Create and maintaining high quality documentation of technical assets in th portfolio.
Work as hands on Individual contributor when situation demands.
Identify the areas of improvement and come up with plans to optimize the test effectiveness
Is capable of giving walkthrough of the solution / approach to the stakeholders
Learns new tools and technique to enable appropriate automation in the testing pyramid for example to prove unit tests are testing the code conditions.
Collaborate with other application testers and software engineers across teams to build the technical solution.
Ensuring defects can be fixed by providing sufficient support to the developers in investigating and resolving the defects.
Support the handover of the system into business-as-usual (BAU) operation, providing the relevant IT service teams with information and education relating to the system technology and function.
Assist in the resolution of live incidents and system problems as and when required.
Identify own development needs and proactively drive development of own capability.
Conform to established good practice and any appropriate test automation standards as used for Multi-Channel Applications within Barclays UK
What we re looking for:
Requirement Analysis work with the Test Manager on driving project requirement analysis and static testing
Create Test ware create test cases, test scenarios and test data that would be required to complete test execution for the project.
Defects defect reporting and ensuring that defects have the right amount of detail, are in the correct statuses/severity, escalated appropriately and tracked to closure.
Participate in test estimations for project
Create query log/ mind map/ flow charts
Escalate issues to stakeholders as appropriate
Contribute towards creating Test Plan/ Test Strategy/ Schedule.
Participate in test planning with stakeholders.
Monitor team progress on test plan. Monitor daily tasks and report on them
Communicate with stakeholders on project status and metrics
Assist Portfolio leads in operational tasks of managing a team
Experience in running a project through STLC with a team
Identify project risks and work towards mitigating them.
Escalate where appropriate to the Portfolio Lead / Platform Owner or the PM
Provide guidance to other team members on technology/domain/application queries
Strong Experience of the following:
Hands on experience in Cards and Banking domain.
Testing across multiple technologies
Strong Mainframe, DB2 skills
SQLs
JCLs
