Senior Oracle Production Database Engineer @ Clarivate

Job Description

Successful applicant will become a key member of our database administration team within the Production Operations Team.

Based on Oracle and GoldenGate as our main technologies, the newcomer would be collaborating on data migration to other technologies in the cloud (AWS) and supporting existing Oracle environments.

Also, the role will provide support to DB-related issues and will assist to the implementation of new projects, including the migration of the existing platforms to the clous.

As this is a 7x24 production environment, he ll take part in the on call service that will be rotating weekly among the team members.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Replication management for both Oracle-to-Oracle and Oracle-to-nonOracle databases. Data flow maintenance.

- Oracle Database performance tuning

- Data consolidation between databases and assistance to service decoupling.

- Process automation.

- Database patching and upgrades.

- Incident resolution and documentation.

- Assistance to the automation of building application systems using continuous delivery technologies.

- Collaboration with data migration to cloud instances, helping with the data transformation

- Assistance to new projects with Oracle and non-Oracle (Postgres, Greenplum) database engines.

- As a senior member, assistance when needed to other team members.

Skills and Experience:

- Excellent written and spoken English skills.

- Experience working on projects and good organisational skills.

- 5+ years as an Oracle Database Administrator (11g,12c) in highly available environments with Oracle RAC architecture.

- Experience with other relational db engines like PostgreSQL, MSSQL or MySQL.

- Knowledge on other non-relational databases like Neo4J, Cassandra or MongoDB is a plus.

- Experience with data replication between databases with GoldenGate.

- Aptitude to perform database performance tuning.

- Good knowledge on Linux operating systems.

- Scripting skills (BASH, Python, Perl).

- Experience with AWS environments is a plus

- Ability to work with version control software (GIT) and automation tools like Ansible.

- Knowledge of Continuous Delivery best practices and tools (e.g. Jenkins) is a plus.

- Experience with automation tools (Ansible).
