Mandatory to be proficient in DD administration / configuration tasks. Should be well versed in raising tickets (and working) with Tech Support, doing health check- ups, retrieving logs and config files.
Would be required to work on Backup and restore requests.
Would have to monitor the overall health of DD, oversee backup streams & sessions, flag off cases where backups are failing.
It would be helpful if they know how to install & configure App Direct (DDBEA). Same applies to NMDA agent installation. If not they will get trained by customer Networker Core Knowledge
Networker Module Knowledge on Oracle ,MS-SQL
Networker & Data Domain integration
Networker Command-line knowledge
Data Protection Advisor reports generation
Understand the Networker process flow.
Have knowledge of installation of client/server of networker.
Understand tape drives and tape libraries architecture.
Works with OEM in troubleshooting the issues.
Able to log call with OEM and take the issues to logical conclusion.
Work with other teams in troubleshooting and solving the issues
Have Good communication/written skills.
Ensures adherence to SLAs by resolving tickets, Checks health of the backup environment and reports anomaly.
Responsible for attending to daily service requests, Adhoc backup requests.
Create documentation for changes, process maps, system diagrams, RCA etc.
Having knowledge of other backup technologies is added advantage.
Handling Service Requests using tool and track closure of all calls as per SLA Provided.
Responsible for media management and tracking media usage.
