Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Protocol Conformance Test Engineer
Key objectives include ensuring that 4G/5G wireless base transceiver stations meet established radio protocol and performance quality standards.
Desired Candidate Profile
- A strong background in wireless communications, Layer 1/PHY, protocols and be well-versed with RF test instruments.
- Have a good understanding of 3G/4G/5G wireless technology, RF and networking.
- Possess insights into Layer1/PHY/protocol performance issues and the ability to isolate and pinpoint sources of problems.
- Hands on experience on 5G / 4G conformance 3GPP spec 38.523 36.523.
- Hands-on problem solver, and be able to propose processes, methodologies and procedures to continuously improve quality.
- Ability to program and develop scripts for automating tests will be helpful.
- Should be able to put together and operate test setups with DUTs, signal generators, analyzers, signaling testers, power meters, channel emulators, scopes, network analyzers and other accessories.
- Ability to collaborate with developers and those involved in interoperability, system, conformance, certification and field tests.
- Should be able to execute with minimal supervision.
- Expertise on debugging of Access Stratum and Non-Access Stratum layer protocol modules with Test and Programming skills in C/C++ will be added advantage.
- Experience working on 5G/LTE/UMTS test simulators like Anite, R&S, Anritsu.
- Message flows for LTE/5G.
- Working knowledge of various protocols and technologies such as LTE/IMS/SIP/VoLTE/VoWifi/RCS/RTP/RTCP/MSRP/DNS/HTTP.
- Strong troubleshooting and defect analysis skills and should be able to segregate issues from device and network perspective.
Ability to write and review technical reports that can be explained to the customers and technology partners.
