Job Description

Conducting trademark searches in various databases, writing opinions on use and registrability of a trademark,
Advising clients on India and global trademark protection and brand strategies
Filing and prosecuting national and international (Madrid Protocol) trademark applications, attending to examination reports issued by the Trademark Office in India and other jurisdictions and conducting hearings before the Examiners/Registrar of Trademarks in India
Handling opposition and cancellation proceedings before Trademark Office and IPAB, filing notice of opposition, Counter statement, evidence by way of an affidavit and attending hearings
Strategies and handling contentious trademark cases such as sending warning/cease & desist letters, approaching opposite parties for settlement in form of withdrawal of application, undertaking not to use the mark, deletion of goods or specification from the application, etc.
Advising on post registration changes including assignment, registered user agreement(s), change of name, address etc.
