Job Description
Key skills SQL tuning, PgSQL, MongoDBMust have skills
DB administration, setting up high-availability, backup and restore, expertise in SQL and NoSQL
Good to have At least one of Hadoop, Spark, ELK, streaming replication, RDS
Responsibilities:
Achieving an expert level understanding of our IOT ecosystem solutions.
Understand the flow and availability of data within the cloud & application to provide optimal solutions
with best practices.
Actively contribute to the configuration, layout and performance tuning of the production
infrastructure.
Research and implement next-generation DB designs to meet the scale & security requirements of the
application and user growth.
Understand & inherit US & India healthcare data security policies with day to day DB Activities.
Implement most secured measures to maintain complete confidentiality & privacy of the Data.
Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls
are adhered to.
Perform Installation, monitoring, administration, repair, and maintenance of the PostgreSQL, MongoDB,
MySQL, and other databases within Cloud hosted environments.
Perform automated installation, management and patching capabilities of cloud databases.
Implement automated Continuous performance monitoring, high availability, disaster recovery of the
data and supporting services.
Work closely with Back-End Development and AWS/DevOps teams and provide Database support.
Respond to service requests and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Assist with implementations and upgrades.
Support requests for unscheduled Database backups and restores.
Participate in rotating 24x7 on call support coverage for DB related issues.
Perform maintenance related activities during scheduled weekend maintenance windows.
Create and update existing documentation of processes and procedures in support of administration
tasks.
Participate in capacity management, expansion and growth planning.
Generate frequent reports to leads and managers about the health of the databases.
Inherit Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools to day to day activities.
Adapt Continuous learning of market trends around related technology and best practices.
Experience:
3-5 years experience as a DBA of PostgreSQL, MongoDB in a 24/7 production environment including
backup recovery, replication, high availability, designing and managing schema, monitoring diagnosing
and optimizing database performance
Ability to detect and troubleshoot database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource
contention issues
Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery and replication solutions and best practices
Experience in at least one of the following Cassandra, Spark, Hadoop, ELK, AWS RDS
Demonstrated experience implementing/deploying database servers
Expertise in writing SQL queries, analyzing query performance using query plans and tuning query
performance
Experience using Agile/Scrum methodologies knowledge of version and revision control practices and
procedures
Ability to participate in the requirements process, providing feedback and engagement to ensure sound
processes are developed
Ability to review, analyze, and modify existing systems
Demonstrate conduct reflecting a high level of discretion and confidentiality
Strong organizational and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices
Experience working with AWS
Experience working with Docker Containers in a Kubernetes cluster is desired
Critical thinking skills and ability to adapt to rapid project changes
Education:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
Certifications or an interest in pursuing certification is a plus
