SSN Trust SSN Institutions (SSN) was established by Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman of $7.6 billion HCL Group and founder of Shiv Nadar Foundation. SSN consists of five institutions namely the SSN College of Engineering, School of Management, School of Advanced Career Education, School of Advanced Software Engineering and an independent Research Centre. The first constituent of the SSN the College of Engineering was established in the year 1996 and within a short span of two decades SSN College of engineering has established itself as one of the top ranked engineering institutions in India. It has been ranked 27th among all engineering institutions as per India Rankings 2017 under the National Institutional Rankings Framework of Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India. SSN is located on a 250 acre campus on the Old Mahaballipuram Road which is also known as the IT expressway of Chennai. Home to aesthetically designed buildings (over 1.8 sq. ft.) SSN has state of the art computer facility, laboratories, seminar halls, auditorium and extensive sports facilities consisting of an indoor sports complex and international standards cricket ground and football ground. SSN offers a distinctive combination of some of the finest graduate, undergraduate and research programs to its students. There are 8 undergraduate programs being offered in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Civil Engineering. The post graduate courses offered by the institution include Communications systems, Computer Science and Engineering, Applied Electronics, Power Electronics and Drives, Information Technology, VLSI Engineering, Software Engineering, Energy Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Medical Electronics, Environmental Engineering and Business Administration The total number of enrolled students across all the undergraduate and graduate programs currently are 4200. Total number of doctoral students at the institute are currently 525.
