Corstone India

CorStone (www.corstone.org) is an internationally-recognized 501(c)3 organization that develops and provides personal resilience programs to improve well-being for youth worldwide, focusing on adolescent girls as critical change-agents in their communities. CorStone is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, US and conducts programs in India and Kenya. Its subsidiary, CorStone India Foundation, has three India offices (headquarters in Delhi and two field offices in Bihar).

CorStone considers building personal resilience to be a foundational step in helping youth to thriveone which is often missing in global development efforts. Our evidence-based programs impact three interdependent factors in wellbeing: emotional health, physical health, and education.

Since 2009, CorStone has developed and conducted its Youth First and Girls First resilience programs among nearly100,000 marginalized adolescents via hundreds of trained community and schoolteacher facilitators in five states across India. Results from CorStones numerous research trials have been well-documented, with papers published in multiple prestigious peer-reviewed journals (see website for papers).Most recently, CorStone entered into an agreement with the Bihar Education Project Council to expand its resilience training programs in over 1,300 government schools and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidhyalaya (KGBV) hostels across all districts of Bihar.
