EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Responsible for development focusing on concept, design, coding, testing, quality assurance of complex product features in a development team. Resolves complex issues within own area of expertise and supports others in resolving complex issues.

• Defines deliverables and provides advice and recommendations on solutions that may affect future design decisions.

• Shows technical, business and/or methodological leadership.

• Constantly improves work methods and engineering skills in the team and beyond to establish state - of - the - art agile software engineering practices. Enhances skills beyond own core functional focus and works on other tasks for the benefit of the team. Easily moves into new topics.

• Work with teams across organizational and geographical boundaries to design and develop state of the art software applications.

• Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big - picture vision, and drive to make that vision a reality.

• Rich experience of requirement gathering and solution discussion.

• Able to translate business requirements into technical, architectural and application strategy taking market and technical trends into consideration.

• Work as an expert developer / engineering lead with a agile development team.

This is a senior development role, which will provide immense potential for growth. The potential candidate would work closely with other members of the team and other functional groups within SAP SuccessFactors.

The Role Requirement

BE / BTech / MCA / MS / MTech in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Technology.

Required Skills

• Expert level Java coding skills and expertise in Web Services (REST, OData), JPA, JDBC with focus on performance and scalability.

• Expertise in Spring, Spring - Boot, Dependency Injection, REST, ORM frameworks like Hibernate.

• Experience in design and development of distributed software systems and cloud development.

• Sound knowledge of OOAD, algorithms, data structures and design patterns.

• RDBMS concepts and Solid foundation with relational database and SQL.

• DevOps mindset - inherent sense of ownership through the development and deployment lifecycle.

• Expertise in debugging, troubleshooting and performance tuning. Knowledge of Scrum processes, Test Driven Development and passion about unit testing, integration testing and test automation.

• Strong analytical / problem solving skills

• Knowledge of lean development infrastructure process including Git, Jenkins etc. and exposure to Continuous Delivery practices.

• High self - motivation and execution skills: result - driven, ability and willingness to quickly take responsibility and to execute.

Preferred skills

• Working knowledge of agile development principles and tools in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.

• Experience with Microservices based software development on Cloud Foundry/ Kubernetes/ Hyperscalers would be an advantage.

• Knowledge of JavaScript and web UI frameworks like UI5, React, Angular and other equivalent frameworks is an advantage.

• Experience of application development in the HCM and Payroll area is an advantage.

• Experience in integration with frontend and backend through oData

• Deep understanding of Cloud and Cloud technologies

• Ability to quickly understand customer business requirements and to generate, promote new and creative ideas
