Job Description

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Fiber optic cables, which are commonly made of glass and transmit signals using light, are utilized by Installation and repairs. Technicians specialize in splicing and terminating fiber optic cables to Expand telecommunications networks into new areas or to replace existing lines. troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve signal problems. Installation process involves stringing cable between elevated towers and poles or laying lines Underground. Fiber optic linemen use construction equipment, such as plows, trenchers, borers and Supervision of electrical works like conduit, wiring, tray and trunk works, final fixes andinstallation of panel. Ensures that all the works done in accordance with the approved construction drawings, contractdocuments, project specifications and all applicable standards. Handle the task of performing any other related duties as assigned from time to time. Erection of tower withstringing. Cable Sizing & Earthing Sizing Calculation. Installation and maintenance of Earth pit and their testing work. Cable Tray Installation, Cable laying , Glanding and Termination to equipments. Ensures that all site works are done according to all applicable quality standards. Winches to dig trenches, either to lay underground cable or to install poles. Linemen also install terminal Boxes, insulation, and other auxiliary equipment, such as signal amplifiers and repeaters. Installation Stringing wire throughout a home or commercial building. Once installed, linemen test the Line's signal strength. Linemen performing maintenance and repair work examine lines and use electrical equipment to test for Damage. They may troubleshoot a line to locate a fault and splice in new line to replace damaged cable. Ensure to complete the work with safety. Checking and performing site installation as per the approved drawing and specifications. Monitor construction activities to ensure work efficiency, achieving target/progress. Daily work report preparation and updating the same to the management. Follow up, arrange and coordinate with procurement team for arranging the delivery of materials. Submit the daily work report and monthly report. Maintaining the daily time sheet for the workers. Installation of the systems according to the specification and approved drawings. Knowledge on testing, installation and commissioning and making reports for the same. Estimates prepares and assigns the resources such as manpower, materials, consumable,equipment
