Job Description

MAIN JOB PURPOSE & BACKGROUND:

Resilience and stability of all IT systems in production is crucial to ensure business meets its financial goals. IT Process Excellence and Operations Management are the process custodians for IT processes across IT Service Design, IT Service Development and IT Service Management, also delivering critical centralized services for Critical Incident Management and IT Maintenance operations. The objective of IT Process and Operations Excellence is to simplify IT and deliver resilience through industry best IT processes & services. IT Process and Operations Excellence is

  • Central function accountable for driving IT Resilience agenda
  • Process centre of excellence & custodian
  • Bring in best in class IT processes from industry, fit for purpose and future ready
  • Drive adoption through training, change management and power up skills / digitization
  • Partner with platforms and Geo IT to enable self-compliance and maturity

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operate the IT Maintenance Planning Process: Overall responsibilities to operate the ITM process covers broadly driving the Platforms to deliver long range demand, track and monitor the demand flow, prioritize the scope of changes into an ITM Window, negotiate and manage conflicting priorities with stakeholders, on-board requests for exceptional windows, resource planning, vendor management, appropriate skilling within the teams. Drive service improvement plans, guide and enable teams to deliver on the identified priorities for the year.

  • Lead the engagement with Platforms for driving long range demand
  • Prioritizing the demand into appropriate IT Maintenance Windows
  • Lead the discussions with Geo IT and other platform stakeholders for exceptional windows
  • Budget management, Vendor Management, Upskill the team and ensure team capability is at par with the expectations of the team delivery
  • Builds strong relationships with platform to support successful delivery of changes to process
  • Drive and manage all automation efforts of the IT Maintenance planning processes

Accountable for the definition of scope, communication, planning, effective risk identification, mitigation, documentation and successful completion of IT maintenance windows. Ensuring that realistic activity, quality and risk plans are prepared and maintained and that a change control procedure is in place. Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital cost against budget and drives accountabilities with the participating teams and manages expectations of all stakeholders.


Global Transformational Programs: The role in IT Process Excellence entails drive Global Transformational Programs and other new initiatives that are undertaken. This should take into consideration the different methodologies and technologies currently existing in the Unilever estate and new technologies to be inducted. This includes :

  • Program Managing the entire cycle from Concept to Platform Enablement
  • Ensure quality of deliverable, timeliness and to full scope
  • Vendor Engagement to find the right fit suitable for the program
  • Develop and discuss the business case for the same
  • Initiate discussions and engagement with the stakeholders for participation in the Core team
  • Platform enablement would require planning, identifying SPOCs, engaging, negotiation on scope, co-creating bespoke models where the models can be flexed, deliver, report, enable self-compliance checks etc.
  • Through the program brand management of the program and enable appropriate sponsorship

Whilst program managing the delivery incumbent is expected to manage costs, while ensuring effective benefits realization and execution of activities to the required excellence levels.

IT Tooling for Service Delivery Function: IT Tooling is a Platform Capability within OEC to help rationalize and industrialize IT tools for speed and optimized cost. This capability is sub-divided into three functions, this role will focus is on IT Tools for Service Delivery. Accountability entails the following:

  • Create a plan pan Platform for the adoption and transition of the IT Tools
  • Initiate the engagement and collaborate with the Platforms for specific IT Tool transition to OEC
  • Refine the plan with inputs from the Platform to cover budget, people, knowledge, effort, issues, risks, TCO etc
  • Effect the transition per the Service Transition guidelines
  • Ensure Tool rationalization pre or post transition
  • Operate the IT Tool as a Service, ensure delivery of Service per Service Model, manage run budget, KEC, Knowledge Management etc.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS:

  • Working with cross cultural environment (to ensure proper engagement with team-members from all locations)
  • High self-motivation and focus to work with minimum of supervision and deliver against agreed targets.
  • Good communications skills to ensure that you can build strong relationships within OEC and with other stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service awareness to keep the customers requirements constantly in mind and ensure that activities align.
  • Exposure to multiple varied industries, preference for FMCG

Key Skills

  • Good working knowledge Project Delivery Lifecycles, Project Planning, Risk Management and Financial Management
  • Strong domain knowledge on Agile, DevOps, ITSM Processes, Risk/Controls, Data and Analytics etc
  • Ability to engage and negotiate with senior stakeholders on program benefits, flexing the models
  • Strong Microsoft Office skill particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Business Change and training
