Floor technicians clean floors and carpeted areas for large facilities and organizations, such as hospitals, businesses, schools, and gymnasiums. This job involves identifying damage or areas in need of repairs, organizing supplies and equipment, and receiving parts from orders and assembling equipment for clients. Most floor technicians work indoors, although they can work in a variety of different settings depending on the organization they work for. This job is well suited to people who can work competently under minimal supervision, who have the strength and stamina to lift heavy equipment and spend long hours on their feet, and who can follow instructions clearly and work to a set schedule.
