Information Security PrincipalYour role
Reporting through the director of cyber & operational risk and resiliency at IHS Markit, you will participate in the design and execution of campaign-oriented operations spanning a variety of targets, environments, and products.
Successful team members are highly motivated cross-functional risk professionals with excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and influence skills. The role will have a high level of exposure across business lines and the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to mitigate potential risks to the firm and address evolving threat scenarios (per legal, regulatory, internal, and external customer requirements).
The successful candidate will understand cyber & operational risk and how it relates to other risk domains to advise business and security leaders on how to interpret evidence-based risk analysis into the business strategy in support of identified requirements. This candidate will learn how to designing/navigate through software responsible for housing data associated with critical products and capabilities, KRI s, and interdependencies to effectively collaborate and communicate with business leaders.
This candidate will be responsible for the coordination, creation, support, and ongoing production of informative and intuitive data that informs credible challenges and key leaders about ongoing and emerging operational and cyber risks. This data will consist of both quantitative and qualitative content and be distributed to leadership, key committees, and the Board of Directors. This candidate will also be required to coordinate multiple projects and complete them effectively with limited oversite and moderate training.
This position requires continuous learning to keep up with industry trends and strategies as well as a tenacious attitude. Members of the cyber & operational risk team are expected to continuously improve their understanding of cloud technologies and various risks/threats to increase the depth of their knowledge.
Emphasis will be on the following objectives:
Applicable industry certifications (e.g., CISM, CRISC, AWS Foundation, CDPSE, or a BCI certification)
Ability to design intuitive meaningful static and online reporting
Extensive experience driving risk reporting and related metrics
Demonstrated ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization, develop partnerships with many business, risk, and functional areas
Significant experience working with cross-functional business teams implementing and driving consensus for business-focused risk initiatives
Proven experience in building partnerships, collaborating, and influencing at senior levels and across lines of business as well as with Corporate partners
Understand business processes, internal control risk management, IT controls, and related standards
Regularly research and learn new Tactics, Techniques & Procedures (TTP) and work with teammates to assess risk and implement and validate controls, as necessary
Arrange and provide support to business units launching new technology applications and services to verify that new products/offerings are not at risk of compromise or information leakage
You have
Experience in undertaking audit and/or formal assessor-related activities for organizations within the field of operational risk and cybersecurity
Experience in performing audits, assurance work, and risk/control self-assessments (RCSA) on behalf of an organization
Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new trends and technologies
Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve both tactical and strategic goals
Must possess poise and the ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
