Position Summary:
This is a Total Rewards leadership role supporting the design, governance and administration solutions for the Companys compensation and benefits programs primarily in India as well as within the APAC region.
As a key member of the global Total Rewards team, this role will have accountability for wide ranging compensation & benefits activities across this region. Working collaboratively with both the business and HR, the candidate will be required to understand specific business needs and have responsibility for the delivery of well-considered compensation and benefits solutions and processes. The candidate will also support regional and / or global projects.
Position Objective
  • Compensation & Benefits leadership role supporting the design and administration processes of the Companys compensation and benefits programs in India and other assigned countries.
  • Given the matrixed nature of the company, the role will also include a business partnering aspect and the candidate will be required to understand specific business needs and have responsibility for the delivery of well-considered compensation and benefits solutions and processes for assigned business divisions across the APAC region.
  • As a key member of the global Total Rewards team, this role will support regional and / or global projects.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the design and administration of the companys Reward programs for the region, in line with the corporate global principles and structures, including base pay management, short term incentives and benefit plans. Evaluate competitive practices, assess the companys position to market, and make recommendations to ensure that these plans are cost competitive and support the companys mission, values, and achievement of business objectives.
  • Manage the compensation infrastructure in the assigned countries, including - where applicable - the salary structures attached to the companys job architecture.
  • Support the design of benefit plans across the countries within the region and enhance administration processes using process improvement methodologies. Introduce flexible benefits and total rewards technology to selected countries to improve employee experience and administration effectiveness.
  • Develop, maintain and interpret policies and procedures related to compensation and benefits programs. Assist site personnel in interpreting these policies.
  • Partner with HR staff across the region to ensure employee understanding of salary administration, incentive, benefits and equity programs and performance management through training programs and regular communications. Develop specific communication and change management plans, including Works Council requirements, when supporting change initiatives.
  • Assist with Merger and Acquisition activity impacting the region, including the C&B integration of newly acquired companies, or assistance with Due Diligence reviews of potential targets.
  • Manage consulting relationships with external brokers, actuaries etc within the framework of global consulting agreements.
  • Support wider projects within the HR function, particularly in the area of process and system improvements.

Nature and Scope
  • This position interacts with varying levels of personnel requiring the ability to influence and clearly communicate verbally and in writing the Companys compensation/benefit policies and programs and the interpretation of them. Effectiveness in this role requires a functional knowledge of corporate operations and product line as well as a full understanding of European HR practices. The incumbent determines own practices and procedures and contributes to the development of new concepts. Decisions are made within global policy constraints; proposed solutions are expected to be both creative and practical.
  • Job encounters problems of diverse scope and high complexity. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; mistakes in work could cause significant data errors and financial loss.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Sciences or other related discipline, or the equivalent knowledge and experience is required.
  • Professional certification preferred and experience designing and administering compensation/benefit programs essential.

Experience
  • Requires extensive and progressive, professional level experience in compensation / benefit management. Demonstrated proficiency in the design and administration of base pay, incentive, benefits and equity programs is required. Ability to perform research and effectively present options and recommendations to management is necessary. In-depth knowledge of compensation theory and practice and knowledge of European benefits and compensation laws and regulations required.
  • High levels of analytical skills required, together with goal accomplishment orientation. Must be results driven, highly energetic, service oriented team player who can function effectively and independently in a fast paced dynamic environment.
  • High levels of computer literacy required, including spreadsheet, word processing and HRIS applications.
