Chief Accountant Location: Anywhere in India Work from Home (Anywhere in India)
Job Summary:
The purpose of the Chief Accountant position is to manage the execution and implementation of accounting policies and procedures, budget compliance, reporting, contracts and any other financial transactions related to Samra.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Senior Management in managing the day to day Accounting and Financial operation.
Analyzes budget patterns and expenditure.
Identify and communicates over-expenditure to department heads.
Approve expenditure throughout the budgetary period.
Provides financial reports and analytics to support business decision making.
Supervise payroll processing, payables, receivables, fixed assets, general ledger and tax functions and maintain up-to-date accounting records.
Coordinates with sales and support departments to determine the proper profit sharing percentages, pricing methodologies and cost centers.
Oversees inventory and stock control to ensure compliance with company policies
Set ordering systems, and compare existing items to order requisitions.
Ensures that Samra financial policies and practices are consistent with governmental laws and regulations.
Administers the General Ledger (GL) and reports related business processes and services including processing and reporting of periodic account, maintenance of the Chart of Accounts (COA), currency maintenance and journal processing
Ensure compliance with finance and accounting processes, policies and procedures.
Coordinate between external auditors and Audit committee for the external audit.
Forecast financial surpluses and deficits as well as liquidity management.
Monitor the financial performance of company investments and ensure the timely preparation and receipt of periodic reports.
Manage financial risks (e.g. pricing and cost variation, interest rate and exchange rate risk)
Ensure that Accounting department employees carry out their duties in accordance with the requirements of the performance standards and code of ethics.
Provide guidance and leadership to the Accounting team, and ensure that they have the proper technical and professional capabilities needed to meet the department requirements.
Provide CFO with adequate information to carry out his/her responsibilities.
Conduct annual performance appraisals to review employees performance in the Accounting department, recommend salary increases, rewards and promotions, and carry out disciplinary meetings when needed.
Liaise regularly with senior management in order to understand ongoing changes in business activities and developments.
Conduct any other activities relevant to the job
