Job Description

Qualcomm s Corporate Engineering is looking for an experienced engineer to provide internal support of system design tools used by electrical engineers such as MATLAB, MathCAD, LabVIEW, Python. The successful candidate will be part of QCAE (Qualcomm's Computer Aided Engineering Group) in Bangalore responsible for providing process automation, design services, methodology support, project consulting, and training for Qualcomm's substantial EDA tool portfolio.

The candidate will work within a global team of experienced EDA support engineers. They will drive automation and troubleshooting related to the design flows QCAE supports. Candidate is expected to provide tool expertise, support and enablement of design flows across system designers, engineers across Qualcomm world-wide. Working effectively across organizational boundaries is essential, as is the effective documentation and presentation of results.

Following are the general areas that the candidate would be expected to support:

- Commercial and custom tools to support system engineers.

- QCAE systems support tools from Mathworks, MathCAD, Wolfram Research, National Instruments

- Open source system tools such as Python/Perl, Octave etc.

• B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communication or Computer Engineering/Computer Science
• 4+ years actively involved in supporting electrical engineering design and simulation tools
• Demonstrated 2+ years of experience on tools such as MATLAB, LabVIEW
• Coding experience with Python and/or Java, shell and/or Perl programming experience, Linux operating systems and environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Programming skills in C, C++ or similar languages
• Previous experience to create custom scripts or parsers that augment board design, simulation or FPGA tools
• Functional experience with Linux LSF environment
• Strong problem solving/ debugging skills.
• Effectively communicates with project peers and engineering personnel via e-mail, web meetings, and instant messaging including status reports and illustrative presentation slides.
• Leadership skills to help direct, prioritize, and clearly set project tasks per schedule. Communicate milestones and directions to outside team members.

• Required: B.E. or B.Tech., Electrical Engineering or Electronics and Communication or Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science; M.E. or M.Tech. is preferred.
